Welcome to AvSoc!
The main aims for AvSoc over the coming year are to give you an insight into the aviation industry and improve your career opportunities by providing various trips and guest speakers.
However we know pilots like to have fun. Therefore we have planned many non-acedemic trips and events, such as;
* Drayton Manor and Blackpool pleasure beach theme parks
* Paintballing,
* Christmas formal
* BBQ's
* Movie nights
* Neon nights out
and of course...
* Otley runs!!
We also offer all our members the opportunity to participate in free sport. We are going to enter 5+7 aside football teams into the inter-mural leagues. We won our 7 aside league last year and hopes are just as high for this year! This year will also see the debut of the AvSoc Rugby team. Please see the groups below for further info!
AvSoc are also going to take part in some really exciting challenges, to raise cash for needy charities and raise the public profile of the society. Such events currently include pulling a plane down a runway and an AvSoc team taking the 3-peak challenge.
For just £10 you can participate in any (or ALL) of the activities for free or a highly subsidised price. It is also a great chance to get to know lots of people from various years of the AvTec courses, as well as other students from Leeds Uni who are just plane interested in Aviation and having a laugh!
